Not Your Average Dog Walk
Exercise and enrichment around your neighborhood and yard.
You provide the harness, we provide the freedom. Dogs walk on a 8-15ft biothane leash, giving them room to sniff, explore and get their steps in while staying safe in a busy neighborhood.
Careful management around tiggers. Does your dog bark at passing pups or find big trucks scary? No problem! Our walkers keep their eyes and ears open to avoid any potential hazards specific to your dog.
Reinforcement of known skills and leash manners is included.
All attention on your dog. Walks are always one-on-one unless we’ve discussed and agreed that your dog would benefit from a compatible canine companion.
$40 per 30 min walk

Not every service is the right fit for every dog — and that’s okay!
While we may hope our dogs will enjoy group settings or public outings like trips to stores, some dogs simply prefer a different kind of enrichment — and it’s important to respect their individual personalities and comfort levels.
At The Joyful Hound, your dog’s well-being always comes first. We reserve the right to recommend alternative services or require day training or private coaching before certain activities to ensure every dog stays safe and set up for success.

Absolutely! I use high-quality treats that accommodate all common allergens to ensure every dog can participate comfortably and safely. In rare cases — such as when a dog can only have their prescription food — I may ask you to provide that. Otherwise, I have plenty of options to suit most dietary needs.

Head to the contact page and fill out the short form. Someone will reach out within 5 business days to chat. If we’re a good fit then an in-person meet and greet will be scheduled.

Yes!. In fact, dogs who display fearful or reactive behavior, or need extra time to build trust are some of the dogs I work with most often. Every dog deserves safe, appropriate exercise and enrichment tailored to their comfort level. For dogs who need time to warm up to new people, I offer happy visits — short, low-pressure visits to your home focused on building a positive relationship at your dog’s own pace. There’s no rush — we go as slowly as your dog needs to feel safe and confident.

At The Joyful Hound, we use only flat collars and well-fitted harnesses to ensure the safety, comfort, and physical well-being of every dog in our care. Harnesses help protect sensitive areas like the neck and throat, provide and support humane, low-stress handling. That said, there’s absolutely no judgment here. We understand that every dog owner makes the best choices they can with the knowledge and tools they have at the time. We are not going to shame you about tools you currently use to feel safe.
We’ll recommend a harness that best suits your dog’s needs, which you’ll need to purchase before services begin. I’m happy to guide you in selecting the right fit to ensure your dog feels secure and comfortable — and so you feel confident, too.

Yes, absolutely — and you’re right to be mindful of this. Tulsa does have its share of strays, and leash laws are not often enforced. With years of experience working with dogs in this area, we know the safest routes, quiet parks, and low-traffic areas where the risk of encountering loose dogs is minimal.
That said, your dog’s safety is always our top priority. We carry Spray Shield (a harmless citronella deterrent) on every outing and educated and experienced in techniques to prevent unwanted interactions with other dogs.

That said, your dog’s comfort always comes first. If we need to reschedule because of unexpected stress, illness, or weather conditions your dog is fearful of — there is absolutely no fee. My top priority is ensuring every dog feels safe, confident, and supported, even if that means adjusting our plans.
Because boarding spots are limited and, especially during busy travel seasons fill up quickly, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your dog’s stay.
This deposit will be requested 6 weeks before the start of boarding, or at the time of booking if your reservation is made less than 6 weeks in advance.
The deposit is applied toward the total boarding cost — it’s not an extra fee.
